Email autoresponders are created as aliases in the mail alias file and the
mail alias database. See this form
if you want to manipulate "normal" email aliases.
- In the first box put the name of the autoresponder. ( Example: moreinfo) This will be used as the email address.
- In the second box put the final recipient. ( The person who receives the original senders email: Final Recipient:webmaster@thisdomain.com)
- In the third box put the Reply to: address. ( Reply to Address: Joe@thisdomain.com)
- In the fourth box put the filename of the text file. (Filename of Response Message : Reply.txt) Note that it is case sensative.
- In the fifth box put the subject of response. ( Subject of Response Message: The information you requested )
- If all information is correct click on "Add" the autorespond alias.
- View the aliases file to check your work.
When people email moreinfo@thisdomain.com the will get a copy of the txt file,
Joe@thisdomain will get a copy of their request for info. If they reply to the txt file they received it will go to joe@thisdomain.com not the autoresponder.
